Dara grew up in Virginia and attended the University of North Carolina, Greensboro with a double major in English and Women’s Studies and a minor in Religious Studies. She later attended the New England School of Photography in Boston with a major in Fine Art Color and a minor in Fine Art Black and White. She came to Pilates shortly after giving birth to her son in search of a workout program that would help in postpartum recovery. Through this work, she found a love for the movement, philosophy and history of Pilates. Pilates not only helped her recovery, but also enabled her to be present and grounded in her body in a way that no other program provided. In pursuing a teaching certification in Pilates, she hopes to help others achieve their personal physical goals, reconnect with their bodies and find joy in movement. While not at the studio, Dara can be found behind a camera or in her darkroom, making art whenever possible!
